Today I offer a prayer for remembering God in our troubles. Sometimes I find it easy to remember God during trying periods, other times I seem to (unfortunately) ‘forget Him’. Let’s strive to always remember our Lord Jesus, at all times, and in all seasons of life. He will rescue us from our sinful flesh (which troubles us) if we trust in Him.
Father God, our Compassionate King and Loving Lord, we praise Your holy name even in the midst of great trial. We cry aloud to You O Lord, please hear us. In the day and hour of our troubles we seek Your face. I the evening as we lie in bed sleepless, we reach out to You, for our souls lack comfort. When we remember You our Father, and when we meditate on You, our spirits moan and grow weak. You keep us awake at night, and we are so troubled we cannot speak. Please, restore us O God of hosts, let Your face shine upon us that we may be saved from trouble of our own making. Please invite us to dwell in Your house, and may we sing Your praises forever. We are blessed when we find our strength in You, for in You can be found paths to heaven and joy. As we go through dry and parched lands You will supply springs and rain, granting us moment by moment strength and refreshment. Thank You Lord of hosts for hearing our prayers, for You are our shield and we are Your anointed children. A day in Your courts is better than a thousand days anywhere else. We would rather be lowly servants in Your fields than dwell in luxurious mansions of wickedness. You are our sun and shield, bestowing Your favor and honor upon us. You do not withhold any good thing from Your children who walk according to Your righteousness. We are truly blessed beyond imagination when we fully trust in You, our Savior, Creator, and King. Amen.
