Honestly, I’m really struggling with focus this morning, so I’m going to keep it simple and pray a Psalm in my own words.
Father God, our Rock, Fortress, and Deliverer, You are our strength and we love You greatly. We call upon Your name in our distress, for You are worthy to be praised, even when we’re suffering turmoil. Thank you for protecting us with ferocity and passion, and rescuing us from strong enemies who hate and overpower us. Please bring us into safe places because You love us and delight in us. Please deal with us in accordance with the imputed righteousness of Jesus, rewarding us when we keep Your ways. Please help us to remain faithful, obedient, and blameless in Your sight, keeping on the paths of righteousness by Your Spirit’s guidance. Please be merciful with us, and help us to be merciful to those around us, that we may humbly serve You as light in this darkness. You are our strength to accomplish that which is impossible by human hands alone, so please uplift those who take refuge in You. You are perfect Father, and there is no other like You who makes our ways blameless and our ways secure. You are our strength and shield, causing all enemies to fall or flee at the sound of Your name. May Your love shine through us, and conquer any lies, so those who hear of You may freely choose to follow Jesus. You O God are alive and vibrant, and our lips exalt You, for You alone provide salvation. You deliver us from evil and we sing praises to Your holy name before all who will listen. Great is Your salvation O Lord, and steadfast is Your love upon each and every one of us, for all of eternity. To You be all honor, glory, praise, and adoration. Amen.
