Today I offer a prayer of steadfastness and peace in times of turmoil. Do you ever find yourself completely overwhelmed by circumstances, or hijacked by your emotions? I certainly do. How can we remain calm in the middle of such chaos? By inviting the grace and peace of God to rule in our hearts and minds.
Father God, our Glorious and Loving Lord, who showers us with mercy and peace, we invite Your holy presence. Father please have compassion on us, affirming us with Your covenant of peace, and providing a firm foundation of Your steadfast love when we experience times of trial. May we learn to bring all of our cares, anxieties, and requests before You, knowing that You offer peace beyond our understanding, and guardianship over our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Please remind us to rejoice in hope, be patient in trials, and constant in prayer. You promise a crown of life to those who endure and remain rooted in You, loving and serving You in the midst of great trial. May we celebrate the strength of character that such trials produce, knowing that You’ve allowed struggles so that we may become more faithful and fruitful. May we never grow weary of obeying You and doing good, knowing that in time great fruit will be produced for Your kingdom and glory. Father please be with our brothers and sisters who are also struggling; may we be alert to their trials, and pray with thanksgiving for Your strength and peace to be upon them as well. May Your people be of one mind and one Spirit, celebrating together, mourning together, and lifting each other up in prayer, so Your glory and honor may be known throughout this world, forever and ever, amen.
