Today I offer a joyful prayer of celebration and rejoicing. What is there to celebrate, you might ask? We serve a loving and compassionate God who has saved us from sin, and withholds His wrath so many more will have opportunity to join us in eternity. The Lord has blessed us so greatly through His grace and mercy and we have more than enough cause for celebration.
Father God, our Glorious Lord and Benevolent King, You have blessed us so richly with Your grace and mercy. We choose to greatly rejoice in You, and exult You within our souls, for You have clothed us with garments of salvation, and covered us with Jesus’ robe of righteousness, as a bride adorns herself with finery. We can rejoice in that which You create, for You have created us to be Your joyful sons and daughters who are filled with glad hearts. You, the God of hope, fill us with all joy and peace in believing, so that by Your Spirit’s power we abound in hope. We rejoice in hope, are patient in tribulation, and constant in prayer. You make known to us the path of life, in Your presence there is fullness of joy, and at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. You say a joyful heart is good medicine. We eagerly await seeing Jesus face to face so our hearts may rejoice even more greatly, and no one can steal our joy. Your kingdom consists of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. We embrace Your Spirit in Jesus’ name, so that we may overflow with joy and peace. This is the day You have made, so we rejoice in You and Your presence, over and over again, forever and always, amen.
