This week we talked about purging unrighteousness from our lives, letting go of non-critical beliefs/traditions, and fully trusting/pursuing God. Today I offer a prayer of surrender to help us with these important truths.
Father God, our Mighty and Magnificent Lord, You are holy and righteous beyond compare. Father we long to wholly devote ourselves to loving and obeying You, however we struggle with trust and humility. Please teach us to deny ourselves, offer up our lives as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to You, so we may follow Jesus. Help us trust in You with all our hearts, not relying on our own finite wisdom, but submitting ourselves to You in every way. As we do this, would Your Spirit enable us to resist the devil and his wiles, forcing him to flee from us. We seek to humble ourselves, seek You fully in constant prayer, and turn away from our sinful ways so You may hear, forgive, and heal us. We acknowledge that we have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer us that live, but Jesus who lives in us. For it is our faith in You, and Your grace for us that has saved our souls – this is Your doing, not ours. May we continue surrendering to You, each and every day, decreasing our self-reliance, while allowing Your power and influence in our lives to increase. Lord, we can only do all these things through You who strengthen us. We honor, glorify and praise Your holy name, forever and ever, amen.
