Today I offer a prayer of blessing for those who find themselves in difficult circumstances.
Father God, our Lord and King, thank you for being our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. You Lord are good, a stronghold in days of trouble, protecting those who take refuge in You. You deliver us from the traps of our enemies, and from deadly pestilence. You shelter us with Your feathers and guard us with Your wings. Your faithfulness is our shield and buckler. We can be fearless when the earth gives way, for You are with us, for You are our God, upholding us with Your righteous right hand, and fighting our battles for us. Though the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, Your steadfast love shall not leave us, for You have compassion upon us and retain Your covenant of peace. In You Father we have peace, even when we experience tribulation in this world, for Jesus has overcome the world. Peace You leave with us, and peace You give to us. You don’t give as the world gives, and our hearts remain untroubled and unafraid because of who You are. We can be sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from Your love in Christ Jesus our Lord. All honor, glory, praise and thanksgiving be to You our Redeemer and King, forever and ever, amen.
