Father God, we come before You today a busy, distracted and tired people. Please help us to accept Your invitation to find a “desolate place”, and rest for a while. May we learn to wait for You, both in body and in soul, and hope in Your word. May we trust You to calm our minds and hearts, like You made the storm still and hushed the waves of the sea. Please teach us patience, to be still in Your presence, and not to fret over anything in this world. Father You encourage to not be afraid or dismayed, that when we stand firm and hold our position, You will fight on our behalf. May we return fully to You, Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, resting in You so that we may be saved; in quietness and in trust, You shall be our strength. In the holy name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior who rested in Your presence alone, amen.
