Today I offer a prayer for peace in Christ. This broken, sin-scarred world is anything but peaceful most times. Not only is there literal war, but there is also much emotional and spiritual brokenness that robs us of peace. Peace in our spirits and hearts is only available through Jesus, who offers peace and healing to those rooted in Him.
Father God, our Most High and Sovereign Lord, You baptize us in Your steadfast love. You long for us to experience deep love and peace in this world, though this world is a broken place, full of trials and troubles. Thankfully, You are bigger, stronger, and more powerful than any difficulty we may face. You keep our minds and spirits in perfect peace when we trust in You and remain rooted in Your presence. You say that those who pursue peace and seek to promote it are blessed and called Your children. You remind us that no cares in this world should be carried on our own, that You will help carry that which burdens our hearts. Jesus please make Your peace rule in our hearts, uniting us as one bride and body. In that way may we strive to be at peace with everyone in accordance with Your moral will. May we set our minds on You Jesus, for You are Life and Peace, so that our hearts need not be troubled or afraid. May You our Lord of Peace grant us stillness and rest in our spirits at all times, and in every way, for all of our remaining days. Amen.
