This chapter has different content, focusing on the uselessness of idols, and praise for Creator God who is mighty and infinitely capable (not an inanimate idol).
“There is none like you, O Lord; you are great, and your name is great in might. Who would not fear you, O King of the nations? For this is your due; for among all the wise ones of the nations and in all their kingdoms there is none like you. They are both stupid and foolish; the instruction of idols is but wood! It is [You] who made the earth by [Your] power, who established the world by [Your] wisdom, and by [Your] understanding stretched out the heavens. Correct me, O Lord, but in justice; not in your anger, lest you bring me to nothing” (v6-8, 12, 24)
There is not one being, or inanimate object, that can save our souls from sin, except our holy Lord, the Blessed Three in One (Trinity). No idol, wad of cash, animal, or other human has that power. Only or Creator God has this unique power: to save us from our sin and reconcile us to Him.
Scripture cannot be clearer that there is only one way to salvation and eternal life: Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sin through His death and resurrection. By believing this truth in our hearts, confessing it with our lips, and seeking to obey Him, God will save our souls from eternal destruction / separation. Any other attempt at self-salvation will be guaranteed to fail, because only the power of the One True God of Israel can save us from our foolishness and sin. No other power but God’s can do such things. Period.
