Today I offer a prayer of honoring and remembering sacrifices others have made for our rights and freedoms. In doing so, they have served us well, and serving / loving one another is in alignment with God’s moral will for mankind. May we never forget to pay it forward, loving others in the name of Jesus.
Father God, our Loving and Steadfast Lord, You have blessed us with so much that we may give generously to those around us. Please help us to remember and honor those who have come before us, who gave what they could for our future wellbeing, selflessly sacrificing what they had for someone else’s benefit. I believe in doing so they were honoring Your moral will, and pleasing You our Father in Heaven. May we continue to love one another as You have loved us, for You say that there’s no greater love than to lay down one’s life for others. May we look not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of others. You and our predecessors have given us freedom, not so we could serve the flesh, but so we could serve each other through love. Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve us through sacrificing His life for our freedom. We have received many gifts Father, so please help us to use those in service of others, as good stewards of Your grace and mercy. As we honor and obey You, please remind us that in order to be first we must be last, and the servants of all. May we love, serve and glorify You through our devoted service to those You love, from this day forward, forever and ever, amen.
