Today I offer a prayer for those who may be feeling overwhelmed in life’s circumstances, situations, trials and struggles. I’m not sure about you, but I certainly have seasons of feeling like treading water isn’t good enough to keep my head above the waves. Let’s bring this before the God of peace and joy.
Father God, our Lord of joy and peace, we come before You today, a burdened and worried people. The busyness of life can be overwhelming, with many demands on our time. Situations and circumstances can overwhelm us like a flash flood, and anxiety is commonplace. We cry for help O Lord. Please hear our plea and deliver our hearts from trouble. You are near to those who are brokenhearted and You save those who are crushed in spirit. Our afflictions are many, yet You deliver us from them all and prevent them from crushing us. You promise to supply every need of ours according to Your riches in Christ Jesus. Your grace is sufficient for us, for Your power is made perfect in our weakness. Therefore we can be glad of our weakness, knowing the power of Jesus is within and upon us. Please remind us to set our mind on You, because with You all things are possible. Jesus please help us to take heart in the face of tribulation and trials, knowing that Your loving sacrifice has already begun restoring brokenness of this world. May You, our Lord of Hope fill us with all joy and peace when we believe in You, so by the power of Your Holy Spirit we may abound in hope, joy, and peace, forever and ever, amen.
