Today I offer a prayer for healing. This is a broken world, with much suffering and sickness. Illnesses run rampant, emotional distress abounds, mourning is a daily practice, and spirits are shattered. We need God’s compassionate healing hand upon us more than ever.
Father God, our Compassionate and Loving Lord, You are abundant in mercy and grace. When You heal us, we are healed; save us, and we are saved; for You are our praise. By Jesus’ wounds we have been healed, so we may die to sin and live to righteousness. We bless You O Lord, with all our souls, and forget not Your benefits, for You forgive sin, heal disease, redeem our lives from the grave, crowning us with steadfast love and mercy. When we pray to You in faith, the sick will be healed and raised up, and their sins will be forgiven. You have given Your faithful servants authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and the power to heal every disease and affliction, yet we lack faith and obedience so Your power does not flow through us as You promised. Please help us to listen diligently to Your voice, doing that which is right in Your eyes, heeding Your commandments and keeping Your laws, so You will be our Lord and Healer. May we be attentive to Your voice, listening to Your words, keeping them within our hearts, for they bring life to us and healing to our flesh. You promise to heal the brokenhearted and bind up our wounds. You promise to bring health and healing, revealing to us Your abundant prosperity and security. You promise to be with us, freeing us from fear and dismay, for You are our God who strengthens and upholds us with Your righteous right hand. We seek to honor, glorify, praise and adore You, for You are ever-present and ever-powerful, healing our minds, bodies, hearts and souls, forever and always, as we are Your humble and diligent servants. May Your power flow through us by the power of Jesus’ reconciling sacrifice, from this day forward, amen.
