Today I offer a prayer for perseverance and steadfastness. Life has a way of throwing us curveballs, yet with God our rock and firm foundation we can stand firm in any unforeseen circumstances.
Father God, our Glorious Lord and King, we stand humbly in Your presence. We acknowledge that we are weak, and we face many trials, some of which are of our own making. We thank you for the promise that those of us who love you and persevere will receive the crown of life. Additionally, when we rejoice in these trials and sufferings and we gain endurance, that endurance produces character and hope that will never put us to shame. When this steadfastness, this firm faith in You has its full effect, we will be whole and complete, lacking in nothing. You encourage us to rejoice in hope, be patient in trials, and pray constantly in the Spirit, knowing that this will produce a firm and unshakable relationship with You, and a strong love for our neighbors. Father, thank you for Your compassion and mercy upon those who remain steadfast. Jesus, We praise You for Your promise that those of us who endure to the end will be saved, and we will reign with You. May You, O Lord, direct our hearts to love You, and reflect the steadfastness of Jesus, forever and ever, amen.
