Today I offer a prayer of thanksgiving and praise. There are so many reasons to praise God. A friend of mine recently challenge me to spend an hour in prayer where I don’t ask for anything, I simply praise God for who He is and what He has done – challenge accepted!
Father God, our Glorious and Magnificent Lord, great, mighty, and holy is Your name. We give thanks in the midst of all circumstances, for this is Your will for us through Jesus Christ. We make a joyful noise unto You, O Lord. We serve You with gladness and joy. We enter Your presence with singing, having thanksgiving in our hearts and praise on our lips. We give thanks to You and bless Your holy name. We know that You are the Lord our creator, and we are Your people, the sheep of Your pasture. We lack nothing. You lead us into peaceful green pastures and beside still waters. You restore our souls and lead us on paths of righteousness, for Your name’s sake. Be blessed our Lord, Father of Jesus Christ our King. According to Your great mercy You have caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. You work righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. You make Your ways known to Your followers, and Your acts made known to the the whole world. You are merciful and gracious, slow to anger and overflowing with unrelenting love. We honor You in prayer and song, remaining watchful and thankful, forever and ever, amen.
