Today I offer a prayer for peace – not ‘world peace’ that every aspirational speech talks about – peace in our spirits and souls that only a relationship with God can provide.
Father God, our Merciful and Gracious King, overflowing with peace, we praise and worship Your holy name. Thank you that we do not need to be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and thanksgiving we can make our difficulties and requests made known to You. Father You promise to give us peace which surpasses all understanding, and will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Jesus, You blessed us with peace – not as the world gives – but the type of peace that puts our hearts at rest. Despite having tribulation in this world, we can be at peace because You have overcome the world. Thank you for being our Lord of Peace, giving us peace at all times in every way, and being with us all unceasingly. Please help us to set our mind on things of Your Spirit, so that we may have life and peace to its fullest. For we have been justified by faith, which grants us peace with You Father through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May we allow the peace of Christ to rule in our hearts, to which indeed we were called as Your people. Please help us to love and keep Your law, for You promise that those who do will will be granted peace and stability. We praise, honor and glorify You Father, for looking upon us with Your loving smile, and giving us peace. Amen.
