Today I offer a prayer for peace. Many parts of our world are experiencing physical turmoil and unrest, while almost all parts are experiencing emotional and spiritual restlessness. Please join me in praying for our world.
Father God, the God of Peace and Mercy, holy is Your name. May we all learn to call upon Your name, and seek Your face, growing ever closer to You. Father through Your Spirit may we learn love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. May we pray, be thankful, and intercede on behalf of all people, and leaders, that we may lead peaceful and quiet lives, godly and dignified in every way. May we learn to bear with one another in every way, forgiving one another just as You have forgiven us. May we be a light unto those who sit in the darkness and shadow of death, to guide their feet in the way of peace. May we seek righteousness which will result in peace and trust forever, with peaceful homes and quiet places of rest. May we overcome evil with good, doing what is honorable in the sight of all, leaving vengeance to You alone. May we aim for restoration, comforting one another, agreeing with one another, living in peace, according to Your will. Thank you for making all this possible Jesus, by creating peace through the destruction of sin’s power over us. All honor, glory, praise and thankfulness be to You O Lord God of peace and provision, forever and ever, amen.
