Today I offer a prayer for increased knowledge and discernment in our lives. I’m not sure about you, but I’ve sometimes struggled to hear God’s voice of leading in my life, so I pray for our eyes and ears to be opened to Him.
Father God, our Almighty, Gracious and Merciful Lord, holy, holy, holy is Your name. We praise You Father, for You are worthy of our praise. We thank You in advance for Your support as we navigate through the intricacies of life. We know that there are many voices in this world, and we are called to test everything and hold fast to what is good. We need Your help to avoid being influenced by these voices, to be transformed by Your renewal of our minds, so by testing what we see and hear we may discern Your will and what is good, acceptable, and perfect. As we draw nearer to You, our hearts know You more, acquiring knowledge and wisdom as our ears hear Your voice. You promise Father that if any of us lacks wisdom we can request it from You, for You give generously without hesitation. May we receive Your wisdom, incline our hearts to Your understanding, call out for Your insight, and seek Your guidance like a hidden treasure. May we hide Your word in our hearts, for it is sharper than any two-edged sword, and helps discern the thoughts and intentions of our hearts. May we abound in love more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so we approve of what is excellent, and be pure and blameless in Your eyes. We praise You in the the name of Jesus, forever and ever, amen.
